Dutch DJ/producer Sophie Francis has signed with Spinnin’ Records. The 18 years-young rising star with a significant music level for her age and experience, has entered the dance scene with a powerful force resulting in extraordinary achievements in a very short period of time.

And now, she’s reached another milestone as she signed a deal with Spinnin’ Records. Looking forward to her first single on the label, the exciting tune ‘Without You’ (coming out February 17th) we already a talk with her.

You have just signed a record deal with Spinnin’ Records – congratulations!

“I just signed my first release with Spinnin’ which is coming out in February!! I can’t wait to have it out… it is so exciting!! Being part of Spinnin’ family is a dream come true for me.”

First of all, how does this make you feel?

“I am really happy! As many young DJ-producers out there, I’ve been dreaming about releasing my music on Spinnin’ Records for a long while, and now it is happening! Spinnin’ is a big reference for many artists, being the world’s leading dance record label. They have an amazing team and the fact that I can be part of their family is amazing.”

How would you describe the sound and style you are bringing to the label?

“It is really difficult to describe my music by only one style. I am thinking out of the box, and working with very nice friends that I meet along my journey. They are writers and producers with different musical backgrounds, which makes it very interesting and diverse. In my music you can listen to pop, tropical and dancehall influences; also future bass, urban and reggae, with positive or motivational lyrics, and some tracks with more uplifting energetic sounds.”

What original track or remix defines you the best so far?

“So far, I think ‘Walls’. It’s a future bass track with trap rhythms, tropical influences and emotional lyrics. It has good energy. And of course, from my first releases, ‘Up In This’ or ‘Bad Boy’ (which are big-room tracks), I feel very close to, because they transmit the amount of energy that I have in me.”

What would you like to achieve at Spinnin’ Records?

“The fact of being part of the Spinnin’ family is already great! My ambition together with the label is to bring my music to as many people as possible around the world, and to keep improving as an artist. And of course, to travel a lot playing at all kinds of great places!”

You must be working on new releases already. What can we expect soon?

“Yayyy! I have two tracks ready to be released! For now I can only tell you about the first one, ‘Without You’, which is coming out in February. It’s a record that I wrote and produced with The Companions -a Dutch duo of amazing songwriters- and with my friend James Ericsson. We made a great team I think! You can listen to it soon.”
